Gift of Garb: Abby McLucas has an eye for serious fashion. From vintage Chanel to couture Alexander McQueen, she knows what gets fashionistas excited. For over 14 years she has been reselling women’s designer clothing on eBay, starting out in a teensy tiny studio off Edgecliffe Dr. and moving to the outpost space in Eagle Rock in 2014. Since this past April, the new Silver Lake location on Hyperion is as chic and sophisticated as the clothes.
“I knew I wanted the shop to be on the east side since living on this side of town for 10 years and saw a lack in the designer resale market as other shops tended to be more in the West Hollywood area” says McLucas. Through word of mouth she has built an inventory from stylish women’s closets across Los Angeles, many who have barely worn many of their items.
Think of classic pieces from designers like Isabel Marant, Marni, Vince, Stella McCartney, The Row, Balenciaga, Lanvin, Alexander Wang, Celine, Jesse Kamm, Helmut Lang….you get the deal. It’s the threads you want to wear, without cashing your entire paycheck. Oh, and gentleman, they carry selected pieces.
