Unforgettable Weekend in DTLA: Oyster Festival & Noon to Midnight

Lots going on in DTLA this weekend! Saturday, grab your sunnies and make it a day at two happening events: DTLA Oyster Festival & Noon to Midnight.

Love oysters? You’re in luck as the second annual DTLA Oyster Festival heads returns to Grand Central Market on both Sat/Sun. The main draw is the six oyster farms that will show off their mollusk wares, including Washington’s Hama Hama, Sol Azul Seafarms from Baja, Rock Harbor Oysters from Cap Cod, and Alaskan Shellfish Farms. They’ll be shucking oysters as well as featuring a selection of French wines for pairings. There’s even a free (RSVP required) oyster-shucking workshop. There is also a $20 ticketed class if you’re so inclined: “A Guided Oyster Tasting” at 6 pm on Saturday and “Terroir Meets Merroir” at 6 pm on Sunday.

For kids, there will also be a free “shell-art” booth from Little June Bugs, where they can make their own oyster-shell pendants or customize a favorite picture frame with jewel-like mini seashells and other decorations.
